كل الأشياء متصلةٌ ببعضها، وهذه الوحدةُ مقدّسة؛ فليس شيءٌ إلا وهو مترابطٌ مع كل شيء آخر. فالأشياء متعاضدة، وتتآلف لتشكّل هذا النظام الكوني. ليس ثمّة إلا كونٌ واحد يتألف من كل الموجودات، وخالقٌ واحد يسري فيها؛ وثمّة جوهرٌ واحد وقانونٌ واحد، هو العقل المشترك لكل الكائنات العاقلة، والحقيقة واحدة، إن كان، كما نعتقد، ثمّة طريقٌ واحد للكمال لجميع الكائنات التي تشترك في العقل نفسه.
