يُطلق مصطلح «الكاريزما» على صفة معيّنة في شخصية الفرد، تجعله يُعدّ استثنائيًا، ويُعامَل كأنه موهوب بقوى خارقة للطبيعة، أو فوق البشرية، أو على الأقل بقدرات أو صفات استثنائية بعينها. وهي قدرات لا يبلغها الإنسان العادي، بل تُعدّ ذات أصل إلهي أو مثالية، وعلى أساسها يُعامَل الفرد بوصفه «زعيمًا».
