لكنّ ما يفوق كلّ العجائب أنني اكتشفتُ أربعة كواكب جديدة، ورصدتُ حركاتها الخاصة والمميّزة، المختلفة فيما بينها وعن حركات سائر النجوم. وهذه الكواكب الجديدة تدور حول نجمٍ عظيمٍ جدًّا [المشتري] كما تدور الزهرة وعطارد، وربما كانت الكواكب الأخرى المعروفة تدور حول الشمس. وحين أُنهي هذه الرسالة، التي سأرسلها إلى كلّ الفلاسفة والرياضيّين إعلانًا لهذا الكشف، سأُرسل نسخةً منها إلى دوقنا الأكبر ذي السموّ الرفيع، مع منظارٍ فلكيّ ممتاز، ليتحقّق بنفسه من كلّ هذه الحقائق.
