من لا يصلح للحرية، ولا يحسن الانتفاع بها، يتعطّش إلى السلطة. فالرغبة في الحرية صفةٌ لذات من نوع «المُقتدِر»، تقول: دعني وشأني فأنمو وأتعلّم وأحقّق قدراتي. أمّا الرغبة في السلطة فهي في جوهرها صفةٌ لذات من نوع «المُعدِم»، أي من لا يملك.
