نحن نُهدر طاقاتنا ومواردنا الأولية الثمينة إهداراً فادحاً، كأنّ مصادرها لا تنفد. بل علينا أن نواجه احتمال تغيير أسلوب حياتنا الأساسي. وسيقع هذا التغيير إمّا بمبادرة منّا، بتخطيط وعقلانية، وإمّا أن تفرضه علينا الفوضى والمعاناة بقوانين الطبيعة الصارمة التي لا تلين.
