تشهد الآداب الموحاة والصوفية للبشرية شهادةً وافرة على أن التجربة الدينية كانت من الديمومة والسيطرة في تاريخ الإنسان بحيث لا يمكن رفضها بوصفها مجرّد وهم. وليس ثمة سببٌ، إذن، يدعونا إلى قبول المستوى المعتاد من التجربة الإنسانية بوصفه حقيقةً، ورفض مستوياتها الأخرى بوصفها صوفيةً وانفعاليةً.
