هل انتهت القصة بسعادة؟ هكذا أرادوا أن يعرفوا. ولو سألني أحدهم اليوم إن كانت قصة حسن وسهراب وقصتي تنتهي بالسعادة، لما عرفتُ ما أجيب. وهل تنتهي قصةُ أحدٍ بالسعادة؟ فالحياة، في نهاية المطاف، ليست فيلماً هندياً. «زندگي مي‌گذره»، هكذا يقول الأفغان: الحياة تمضي، لا تكترث بالبداية ولا بالنهاية، ولا بالنجاح أو الإخفاق، ولا بالأزمة أو التطهّر، بل تمضي إلى الأمام كقافلة بطيئة مغبرّة من الكوتشي.
