أقدّم للكتّاب الطامحين أقدم نصيحة في الصنعة: اقرأ واكتب. اقرأ كثيرًا. اقرأ لكتّاب جدد وراسخين، واقرأ لمن يسيرون في نهجك، ولمن يكتبون في نوع مختلف تمامًا. لقد سمعت عن المدخّنين المتسلسلين. والكتّاب، ولا سيما المبتدئون، يحتاجون أن يكونوا قرّاءً متسلسلين. وأخيرًا، اكتب كل يوم. اكتب عمّا يحكّ جلدك ويُبقيك مستيقظًا في الليل.

Read new authors and established ones, read people whose work is in the same vein as yours and those whose genre is totally different. You've heard of chain-smokers.
