شخصياً، لا أرى أن الأعمال العظيمة ممكنة بالجهد الفردي أو بالأفعال المنفردة. بل أرى أن المرء لا يعرف ما ينبغي فعله في لحظة بعينها إلا بعد أن يفهم روح العصر، ولا يمكن دفع الأمور إلى الأمام إلا إذا شعر بالمسؤولية. وهذا تحديداً ما وضعته هدفاً لنفسي: أن أشجّع فرنسا والفرنسيين على التغيّر والتطور أكثر.
