هناك إفراطان: أن تُقصي العقل، وأن لا تقبل إلا العقل. أسمى ما يبلغه العقل أن يدرك أن له حدّاً. وآخر خطوة للعقل هي الإقرار بأن ثمة أشياء لا نهاية لها تقع خارج نطاقه. وإن لم يبلغ العقل هذا الإدراك، فهو عاجز لا غير.
