أولاً، ينبغي أن نصرّ على أنّ المهاجر الذي يأتي إلينا بحسن نية، ويصبح أمريكياً ويندمج فينا، يجب أن يُعامَل على قدم المساواة التامة مع الجميع، فالتمييز ضد مثل هذا الرجل بسبب معتقده أو مولده أو أصله ظلمٌ فادح. لكنّ هذا مشروطٌ بأن يصير الرجل أمريكياً حقاً، لا شيء سوى أمريكي.
