سيكون هذا اليوم أكثر الحقب تذكّرًا في تاريخ أمريكا. وأرجّح أن الأجيال المتعاقبة ستحتفي به بوصفه العيد الكبير. ينبغي أن يُخلَّد بوصفه يوم الخلاص، بأعمال تعبّد خاشعة لله القدير، وأن يُحيا بالمواكب والاحتفالات، بالعروض والألعاب والمسابقات، بالمدافع والأجراس، والمواقد المشتعلة والأنوار الساطعة، من أقصى هذه القارة إلى أقصاها، من هذا الوقت فصاعدًا أبد الدهر.
