الضحايا الحقيقيون الميؤوس منهم للمرض العقلي يُوجدون بين أولئك الذين يبدون الأكثر سواءً. كثيرون منهم أسوياء لأنهم متكيّفون تمامًا مع نمط وجودنا، لأن صوتهم الإنساني قد أُسكت مبكرًا في حياتهم، حتى إنهم لا يكافحون ولا يعانون ولا تظهر عليهم أعراض كما يحدث للعصابيّ. إنهم أسوياء لا بالمعنى المطلق للكلمة، بل أسوياء فقط بالنسبة إلى مجتمعٍ مختلٍّ اختلالًا عميقًا.
