بدأ الناس الآن يفسّرون الحرب الباردة. فحتى في الأزمات التي وقعت آنذاك، كان بقاء ملايين البشر على المحك. واضطررنا نحن (الولايات المتحدة) إلى التهديد بالرد على القوة العظمى الأخرى كي نمنعها من فعل شيء ضدنا. واليوم نعيش في عالم تتغير فيه أشياء كثيرة. وهذا يولّد خوفاً كبيراً. لكنه أيضاً زمن فرصٍ عظيمة. وأدعو زعماء اليوم إلى ألّا يسمحوا للخوف بأن يوجّه تفكيرهم.
