لكنّ ديمقراطيتنا المثالية، التي لا تحتاج إلى الناخبين ولا تكترث كثيرًا لوجودهم، أمرٌ نادر. ومن المهم أن نتذكّر أن في العالم اليوم أشكالًا أخرى كثيرة من الحكم، وأن عشرات الحكومات الأجنبية ما زالت تتمنى أن تُفرض عليها ديمقراطيةٌ كديمقراطيتنا.
