لعلّ هذا ما أشعر به: خارجٌ وداخل، وأنا في الوسط، لعلّ هذا ما أنا عليه، الشيءُ الذي يفصل العالم إلى نصفين، هنا الخارج وهناك الداخل، وقد يكون رقيقًا كورقة الفضة. لستُ مع هذا الجانب ولا ذاك، بل أنا في الوسط، أنا الحاجز، لي سطحان ولا سُمك لي. لعلّ هذا ما أشعر به: أنا أهتزّ، أنا غشاء الطبلة؛ من جهة العقل، ومن جهة العالم، ولا أنتمي إلى أيٍّ منهما.
