لم أشعر بحماسة الاستماع إلى الموسيقى وابتكارها، ولا بمتعة القراءة والكتابة، منذ سنوات كثيرة. وأشعر بذنب لا يُوصف تجاه هذه الأمور. فحين نكون خلف الكواليس، وتنطفئ الأضواء، ويبدأ هدير الجمهور الجنوني، لا يؤثر فيّ ذلك كما كان يؤثر في فريدي ميركوري، الذي بدا أنه يحبّ حبّ الجمهور وإعجابه ويتلذذ بهما، وهذا ما أُعجب به أشدّ الإعجاب وأحسدُه عليه.
