ما الذي في الأماكن الخالية من المادة؟ ومن أين يأتي أن الشمس والكواكب تتجاذب فيما بينها دون مادة كثيفة بينها؟ ومن أين يأتي أن الطبيعة لا تفعل شيئًا عبثًا؟ ومن أين ينشأ كلُّ ذلك النظام والجمال اللذان نراهما في العالم؟ ولأيّ غاية وُجدت المذنّبات؟ ومن أين يأتي أن الكواكب تسير جميعها في اتجاه واحد وفي مدارات متحدة المركز، بينما تسير المذنّبات في كل الاتجاهات وفي مدارات شديدة الانحراف؟ وما الذي يمنع النجوم الثابتة من أن يسقط بعضها على بعض؟
