كلّ تحليل للواقع اللامتناهي يستطيع العقل البشري المحدود أن يجريه يقوم على افتراض ضمني مفاده أنّ جزءًا محدودًا فقط من هذا الواقع هو موضوع البحث العلمي، وأنّ هذا الجزء وحده «مهمّ»، بمعنى أنّه «جديرٌ بأن يُعرف».
