إنّ الأجهزة الكثيرة المصممة لتوجيهنا في التجارب، ولتعويض دقة حواسنا، تجعلنا نُهمل استعمال تلك الحواس... فكلما كانت أجهزتنا أبرع، كانت حواسنا أخشن وأقلّ مهارة. نحيط أنفسنا بالأدوات، ونخفق في استعمال ما وهبتنا إياه الطبيعة، لكلٍّ منا.
