أرى أن من المهم أن نستدلّ من المبادئ الأولى لا بالقياس. فالطريقة المعتادة في إدارة حياتنا هي الاستدلال بالقياس: نفعل هذا لأنه يشبه شيئاً فُعل من قبل، أو لأنه يشبه ما يفعله الآخرون. أما بالمبادئ الأولى، فإنك تُرجع الأمور إلى أصولها وحقائقها الأساسية، ثم تستدلّ منها صعوداً.
