النجاح خطر بقدر الفشل، والرجاء جوفاء كالخوف. ما معنى أن يكون النجاح خطرًا كالفشل؟ سواء صعدتَ السلّم أم هبطتَ فيه، فموضعك مهتزّ. أما حين تقف على قدميك ثابتًا على الأرض فستحفظ توازنك دومًا. وما معنى أن الرجاء جوفاء كالخوف؟ الرجاء والخوف شبحان كلاهما ينشآن من التفكير في الذات. فإذا لم نرَ الذات ذاتًا، فماذا نخشى؟ انظر إلى العالم بوصفه ذاتك. ثق بسير الأشياء كما هي. أحبب العالم كأنه ذاتك؛ عندها تستطيع أن ترعى كل الكائنات.
