كان عمل شعبنا الشاق، وحريته التي تمتّع بها، وإيمانهم بالله، ما بنى هذه البلاد وجعلها مَحسدة العالم. وفي كل مدننا وبلداتنا الكبرى تشهد على إيمان شعبنا دُورُ العبادة، وهي من أقدم المباني، على اختلاف مذاهبها. فلم يكن آباؤنا الأوائل يقبلون يومًا الانحناء لطاغية، لكنهم كانوا دائمًا على استعداد للركوع أمام الله. وإذا داهمتهم الكارثة لجأوا إلى الله طلبًا للنجاة، وإذا أغدقت عليهم الأرض محصولها كان أول ما يخطر لهم الشكر لله.
