حين أتحدّث إلى أيّ شخص، أو أقرأ كتابات من له غرضٌ يسعى إليه، أشعر أنّ النزاهة الفكرية والحكم المتوازن قد اختفيا من وجه الأرض. فكلُّ فكرٍ عند الناس مرافعةٌ قضائية، وكلٌّ يسعى إلى تقديم «قضيّة» بإخفاءٍ متعمَّد لوجهة نظر خصمه، والأدهى من ذلك أنه لا يُبالي بأيّ معاناة إلا معاناته هو وأصدقائه.
