لقد توصّلتُ إلى الاستنتاج المُخيف بأنّي أنا العنصر الحاسم. فنهجي الشخصي هو ما يصنع المناخ، ومزاجي اليومي هو ما يصنع الطقس.... وفي كل المواقف، يكون ردّي هو ما يحدّد ما إذا كانت الأزمة ستتصاعد أم ستتهدّأ، وما إذا كان الإنسان سيُنسَن أم سيُجرَّد من إنسانيّته.
