الحرية من أثمن ما وهبته السماء للإنسان، ولا يُعادلها ما تحويه الأرض أو تخفيه البحار من كنوز؛ ومن أجل الحرية، كما من أجل الشرف، يجوز بل ينبغي أن نخاطر بأرواحنا. وعلى النقيض، فإن الأسر أعظم ما يمكن أن يصيب الإنسان من شرّ.
