قلتُ إنّ الشعر فيضٌ تلقائي للمشاعر القوية، ينشأ من عاطفة تُستعاد في هدوء. تُتأمَّل العاطفة حتى يتلاشى الهدوء شيئاً فشيئاً بفعل نوعٍ من الارتداد، فتتولّد عاطفةٌ شبيهة بالأولى التي كانت موضوع التأمل، وتغدو موجودةً فعلاً في النفس.
