العقل الذي خُلق سريع الحبّ، يستجيب لكل ما يُسرّ، ما إن يوقظه السرور إلى الفعل. فملكتك المدركة تأخذ انطباعًا عن شيء واقعي، وتُبرزه في داخلك، فيُقبل العقل نحوه. فإن أقبل إليه ومال نحوه، كان ذلك الميل حبًّا؛ وهو الطبيعة، التي تُعقد بها من جديد داخلك عبر اللذة.
