لا يمكن أن يكون هناك تعارضٌ حقيقي بين الدين والعلم، فأحدهما متمّمٌ للآخر. ويدرك كلّ إنسانٍ جادٍّ متأمّل، فيما أرى، أنّ العنصر الديني في طبيعته يجب أن يُعترف به ويُنمّى، إن أريد لكلّ قوى الروح الإنسانية أن تعمل معًا في توازنٍ وانسجامٍ تامّين. ولم يكن ذلك صدفةً، فأعظم المفكرين في كلّ العصور كانوا أرواحًا عميقة التديّن.
