طوال حياتي كرّستُ نفسي لنضال شعب أفريقيا. حاربتُ السيطرة البيضاء، وحاربتُ السيطرة السوداء أيضًا. أعززتُ في نفسي مثال مجتمعٍ ديمقراطيٍّ حرّ، يعيش فيه الجميع معًا في وئام وبتكافؤ في الفرص. هذا مثالٌ أرجو أن أعيش من أجله وأن أحققه. لكنْ إن اقتضت الضرورة، فهو مثالٌ مستعدٌّ لأن أموت من أجله.
