كنا نصوّر فيلم «سكارفيس» منذ سنوات طويلة... وأذكر أنني كنت أشرب قهوتي وأنظر إلى الشاطئ وأمواج البحر، فرأيت مئة شخص ينظرون إلى المحيط. قلت في نفسي: ما الذي يحدث؟ هل جرفت الأمواج حوتاً إلى الشاطئ؟ فوقفت على الطاولة لأرى ما الأمر، فإذا به المخرج برايان دي بالما واقفاً وحده عند الأمواج، وكان الجميع ينتظرونه. ولم أنسَ ذلك أبداً، لأنه جسّد لي ما هو المخرج، وما الذي يفعله.
