لو سُئلتُ عن أعظم كنز تملكه الهند، وعن أجمل إرثٍ لها، لأجبتُ دون تردد: إنها اللغة السنسكريتية وآدابها وكلّ ما تحويه. هذه ميراثٌ عظيم، وما دام باقيًا ومؤثّرًا في حياة شعبنا، سيبقى الجوهر العبقري للهند قائمًا. فإن نسي أبناء أمتنا بوذا والأوبانيشاد والملاحم العظيمة (الرامايانا والماهابهاراتا)، لما عادت الهند هندًا.
