قررتُ أنني مستعد لتولّي هذا المنصب حين تبيّن لي أن فرصة إنقاذ البلاد ضئيلة للغاية. كنتُ مستعداً للتضحية بنفسي من أجل هذا الوطن وشعبه البالغ تسعين مليون نسمة. إنهم يريدون الغذاء والوقود والكهرباء، ويتطلعون إلى حياة كريمة. وأي رئيس لا يلتفت إلى مثل هذه التفاصيل، أو يعجز عن توفير الحد الأدنى من الاستقرار، ينبغي أن يترك منصبه.
