أرى أنّ الوقت قد حان لرئيس يوفّر الأمان الاقتصادي الحقيقي الوحيد: وظائف جيدة. رئيس يقدّم تخفيفًا للضرائب على الرواتب عن الطبقة الوسطى، ليصل المال إلى جيوب العاملين فينفقوه، لا مزيدًا من الهدايا الضريبية لأصحاب الثروات لتحفيز الاقتصاد في جزر الكايمان وبرمودا. رئيس يربط الحدّ الأدنى للأجور بمعدّل التضخم ويرفعه من أدنى مستوى له منذ ثلاثين عامًا، لا يزيد العبء الضريبي على الطبقة الوسطى وعلى من يكافحون للانضمام إليها.
