من أوائل ما ينبغي للشباب، ولا سيما في زماننا هذا، أن يتعلّموه: أن يرى بعينه، ويسمع بأذنه، ويفكّر بعقله. عندها فقط يستطيع أن يصل إلى قرار عاقل بنفسه. فإن اعتدتَ أن تأخذ برأي ما تسمعه عن أحد، أو بما يظنّه الناس فيه، بدلًا من أن تبحث عن الأمر بنفسك وترى بعينك، فستمشي غربًا وأنت تظن أنك تمشي شرقًا، وتمشي شرقًا وأنت تظن أنك تمشي غربًا.
