إن عانى العالمُ من انحطاطٍ عقلي أو فسادٍ أخلاقي، فثمّة خللٌ في جذر الحضارة والثقافة ذاته. وإن استمرت تلك الحضارة زمناً طويلاً، فإنها تزداد وهناً وفقداً للحيوية، حتى تنهار في النهاية.
