أن تحبّ يعني أن تكون مكشوفاً للأذى. أحبب أيّ شيء وسيعتصر قلبك، وربما يُكسر. وإن أردت أن تحفظه سليماً، فلا تمنحه لأحد، ولا حتى لحيوان. لُفَّه بعناية بالهوايات وأسباب الترف الصغيرة، وتجنّب كل ارتباط. أقفله في صندوق أنانيتك أو تابوتها الآمن. لكنه في ذلك الصندوق، الآمن المظلم الساكن الخالي من الهواء، سيتغيّر. لن يُكسر، بل سيصير غير قابل للكسر، وغير قابل للاختراق، وغير قابل للخلاص. أن تحبّ يعني أن تكون مكشوفاً للأذى.
